BODS NeTEx Fares Profile v1.0 Published
The use of NeTEx for fares & tickets is a relatively recent introduction to the industry. The UK NeTEx profile is highly flexible and allows for a multitude of potential ways to express the data. In order to simplify this and bring greater consistency to published fares data, BODS are implementing a BODS NeTEx profile for both simple and complex fares.
Bus User Priority Guidance Published
The Department for Transport Guidance on Bus User Priority has been published.
While this guidance focuses on improving bus services, it is important to recognise the possible impacts on other road users. The Plan for Drivers, published in October 2023, includes a range of measures to ensure smoother journeys. This guidance delivers the commitment to strengthen guidance to make sure bus lanes help rather than hinder traffic.

The Department for Transport are exploring what the bus industries requirements and expectations are for the Bus Open Data Service, now and in the future.
We want to work with local authorities, suppliers and operators to identify what you would want to see BODS & ABODS able to do to help you achieve your objectives and goals. As part of this work, we are holding a series of online workshops.

Today the Department for Transport has published its mobility as a service code of practice for for app developers and companies aims to ensure they offer more streamlined and joined up journeys for travellers and commuters while ensuring the technology is accessible to all.
Bus Centre of Excellence Website Launched
Announced in the Bus Back Better strategy, the Bus Centre of Excellence (BCoE) was launched in April.
The BCoE website is now live https://www.buscentreofexcellence.org.uk/
This platform is a one-stop shop for the latest resources, events, and training for all who work in the bus sector. The BCoE website will host the a wide range of resources, including from RTIG, to boost your and others capability in the sector, including industry reports, case studies, technical notes and policy updates.
Providing Data to BODS for Flexible Bus Services - Consultation
The current data profile for supplying data to BODS supports standard bus services. There are an increasing number of flexible bus services operating and providing sometimes the only public transport provision in an area.
Bus Services Act 2017 Accessible Information Regulations Published
