A QR code on a bus stop only helps passengers if it is easy to find, quick to scan and safe to trust.

This good practice guidance, QR Codes at Bus Stops, gives local authorities, bus operators and suppliers a practical, implementation-ready standard for getting it right.

It covers topics such as where to place the code, the minimum size and quiet zone, labelling, print quality, tactile marking and background contrast. A passenger who learns where to look at one stop can find the code at every stop, which cuts "hunt time" and the effort of finding it.

The guidance was developed with RTIG's Inclusive Information working groups and TfL's Independent Advisory Group.
